Preparations for the Muziekzomer are running and rehearsals have started. The NJO presents various concerts played by members of the NJO in different arrangements, resulting in a fine selection with something for everybody's liking.

'Sirene' is a familyconcert that takes place on water. Together with Corpus Acrobatics the NJO Koperensemble has designed a swirling performance in which music, acrobatics and beautiful costumes come together. An event not too miss!

Violinist and king of gypsyjazz Tim Kliphuis will coach seven woodwinds, thirteen strings and a harpist. Together they are preparing concerts were improvisaton takes a central stage and classical music, jazz and gypsy fuse together in 'NJO goes gypsy'

The NJO Tubaquartet consists of two tubaplayers and two euphoniums, a special combination of instruments you will not see very often. The beautiful deep sound of the copper makes various arrangements from Piazzola to Tsjakovksi feel familiar and at the same time sound as newly discovered music.

'Towards a New World' is the symphonic program of the NJO under direction of Alexandre Bloch. It will be played during the festival and in Het Concertgebouw. With all members of the orchestra rehearsing together again , they present a program in which they long for a free world! From West Side Story to the Coplands Appalachian Spring Suite and a finissage with Dvoráks Nineth Symphony, the NJO takes you with them on a musical trip to the America's.

Dates and Ticket sale

The concerts during the Muziekzomer and in the Concertgebouw will take place from Friday July 30 till Sunday the 15th of August. Ticketsale for the Concertgebouw has started on the 3rd of May and sales for the Muziekzomer start on the 10th of June.
