SWIRLING DINNER PERFORMANCE

Who doesn't know her: Loo, the almost 400-year-old palace of the Royal House of Orange-Nassau in the heart of Apeldoorn. But how well do you really know this diva with generous features? LOO is humorous and dynamic music theatre, in which Loo takes a look at her personal past and thoughts and gives a light-hearted look at Dutch royal history.

While an ensemble of eight NJO musicians performs the sounds of composers such as Lully, Mozart and Offenbach live, the audience enjoys a majestic dinner. At the same time, an exciting game unfolds between appearance and reality. LOO is a dazzling music theatre performance in which soprano Laetitia Gerards brings the almost 400-year-old palace of the Oranges in the heart of Apeldoorn to life and marketing manager Klamer (played by Jeroen van Venrooij) and his assistant Alicia (Annemarije Zoer) go in search of Loo's soul. The ensemble consists of eight (former) musicians from the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands: Pieter Mark Kamminga (percussion), Rianne Schoemaker (trumpet), Federico Altare (flute), Lionel Lutgen (guitar), Jurjen de Roest (double bass), Michiel Wittink (viola), Jenita Veurink (saxophone) and Valentina Toth (piano).

LOO is the second own production by Theater Orpheus, the home base of the National Youth Orchestras of the Netherlands and thus of the NJO. These productions are based on regional stories that have a national appeal.

Please note: due to the ongoing COVID-19 measures, Theater Orpheus had to decide to move LOO from February to July 2022. If you had already bought tickets, you will have received an email from the theater with the new date.
