During the Muziekzomer Gelderland from July 29th to August 14th 2022, nine members of the National Youth orchestra of The Netherlands (NJO) will perform Serenade no.1 by Johannes Brahms. The wish of one of the members of the NJO to play this work for large chamber music ensemble for an audience, will become reality. The work has been written for flute, two clarinets, bassoon, horn, violin, viola, cello and double bass.

Besides this beautiful piece by Brahms, the Nonet by Spohr will also be played. This piece requires almost the same orchestration, although one hobo is needed instead of the second clarinet. Jasper de Waal will work with the ensemble as coach prior to their concerts.
